
Engagement programs and culture change initiatives require a lot of money by companies. Yet, the majority of them do not result in any fruit when the practice of favoritism is conducted under the carpet. This causes toxicity which interferes with the workplace cultures when relationships supplant performance or security metrics. Learning the mechanics of favoritism and coming to understand its consequences is an essential first step towards building equitable high-performing and safe organizations.
